Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By submitting a registration on academy.kavinoq.com you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not accept them, please do not register.

2. Who we are

Kavinoq Academy is a software-engineering training programme operated from Lagos, Nigeria. We deliver cohort-based bootcamps in Backend Development (Java) and DevOps & Cloud. References to "we," "us," or "the Academy" mean Kavinoq Academy; references to "you" mean the applicant or registered student.

3. Tuition and payment

Tuition for the current cohort is published on the Tracks page. Payment may be made in full or via the published instalment plan. Your seat is confirmed only when the required deposit (or full tuition) has been received and reconciled.

All amounts are quoted in Nigerian Naira (NGN). Payment is by direct bank transfer to the account shown on your confirmation email.

4. Refunds and cancellation

Our refund policy is published separately at /refund-policy and is incorporated into these terms by reference. The policy is tiered based on time elapsed since registration.

5. Code of conduct

By registering you agree to participate in good faith — attend scheduled sessions, complete assignments honestly, and treat staff and fellow students with respect. Repeated unexcused absence, harassment, or academic dishonesty may result in dismissal from the cohort. Dismissal does not entitle you to a refund beyond what the refund policy permits.

6. Course materials and intellectual property

Lecture recordings, slides, and curriculum materials are provided for your personal study only. You may not redistribute, resell, or use them to train commercial products. Code you write during the bootcamp belongs to you; we may showcase non-confidential portions of your work as part of our marketing, with credit.

7. Certificate of completion

A certificate is issued at the end of the cohort to students who complete the assessment requirements and have settled their tuition in full. The certificate confirms attendance and assessment outcomes only — it is not a regulated academic qualification.

8. Recruiters and referral commissions

If you arrived via a recruiter referral link, the recruiter may earn a commission on your tuition. This does not change the price you pay. The terms between us and recruiters are documented separately and do not affect your relationship with us.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to your enrolment is limited to the tuition you have paid for the relevant cohort. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (loss of expected earnings, missed job opportunities, etc.).

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by good-faith discussion shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State.
