Cohort 2 — starts 1st August, 2026

Build software the way production teams actually build it.

Kavinoq Academy runs cohort-based programs for engineers who want to go past tutorials. Two focused tracks, taught with real systems and shipped projects.

Applications close 25th July, 2026 • Online, instructor-led, with live cohort sessions

Two focused tracks

Pick the path that matches what you're trying to build.

Cadence
Wed evenings + Saturday workshops

32 weeks total, Online, instructor-led, with live cohort sessions.

Capstone
Production-grade project

Every track ends with a capstone you can hand to an engineering interviewer, not a screenshot of a to-do app.

Real code review

Instructors review your code each week. No auto-graded busywork — feedback from people who ship.

Common questions

Who is Kavinoq Academy for, and is it right for my experience level?

Kavinoq Academy is for developers who have grown tired tutorials and want to ship production systems. Whether you're an ambitious beginner or pivoting your career, we'll help close the gap between knowing how to code and knowing how to engineer — the difference between building a todo app and building something that survives real users.

What's the format and how is it delivered?

Fully online and instructor-led. You'll have live cohort sessions on Wednesday evenings and Saturday workshops, ship a substantial project most weeks, and meet one-on-one with an instructor on a regular cadence.

How much time should I commit weekly?

Plan for 30+ hours a week — split across live sessions, independent project work, and code reviews with your cohort. It's intensive, and we won't pretend otherwise. We've placed the schedule on evenings and weekends so it fits alongside a full-time job, but you will feel it.

What happens if I miss a live session?

Every session is recorded and posted to the student portal within 24 hours. We strongly prefer you attend live though — the real-time Q&A and the side conversations with the cohort are half the value, and they don't come through on a recording.

What stacks do you teach?

We teach principles first, then a specific stack to ground them in. The Backend Java track uses Java and Spring Boot with PostgreSQL and Docker. The DevOps & Cloud track uses Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, with hands-on work in GCP and Azure. The principles transfer to other stacks; the specifics give you something concrete to put in front of a hiring manager.

What OS can I use for the program?

You can use any OS - MacOS, Windows, or Linux. However, we encourage you to use ShedOS which is a Linux-based development environment we've built for this program. Standardizing on it means everyone's tooling is identical — no 'works on my machine' debates, no spending the first three weeks fighting setup issues. You can run it as your daily driver or in a VM; either way, you'll be on the same footing as your instructors and classmates.

Is the program project-based?

Entirely. You'll build real, complex systems from week one — no toy assignments, no todo apps. By the end of the cohort you'll have a capstone you can hand to an interviewer without flinching.

What support do I get outside of live classes?

Two things. First, daily standups Monday–Friday where you share what you finished yesterday, what you're tackling today, and what's blocking you — the same rhythm as a real engineering team. Second, walkthrough sessions where students teach a recently-covered topic back to the cohort. Nothing forces you to truly understand a topic like having to explain it.

Do you offer job placement services?

We help in three ways. We partner with companies to place our strongest students into internships, we run portfolio reviews and mock interviews for junior-level roles, and we coach you on compensation and offer conversations. We can't guarantee a job — anyone who does is selling something — but we can make sure that when you walk into an interview, the technical bar is the easiest part of the day.

What are the costs and payment options?

Bank transfer, two options. Pay in full at ₦500,000 upfront, or use the installment plan at ₦750,000 total. The installment plan starts with a 45% deposit (₦337,500) that secures your seat, with the balance paid across the cohort. The installment total is higher because it covers the longer collection timeline.

How is the ₦750,000 installment plan structured?

A 45% deposit of ₦337,500 secures your seat. The remaining ₦412,500 is split into two equal monthly payments of ₦206,250 across the first two months of the cohort.

Am I locked into my chosen track once I sign up?

No. You can switch tracks any time before the cohort starts — just email support@kavinoq.com and we'll update your registration. Once the cohort begins switching becomes harder, because the two curricula diverge fast, but reach out and we'll work something out.

Is there a refund policy?

Yes. Full refund within the first 7 days of payment. From day 8 through day 30, you'll receive 50%. After day 30 we can no longer process refunds.

Are there materials I can keep?

Yes. Every live class is recorded and posted to the student portal alongside slides, exercises, and reference notes. You can revisit everything during and after the cohort.

Who do I contact for additional help?

Email support@kavinoq.com. We typically respond within one business day.
